In the Gym
Hi,
Ok I had a brush with low to no light and was allowed use the flash. In hindsight i should have pointed it directly at the subject instead of bouncing from a low roof ( altough i hate harsh light ). I also should get familiar with where noise gets high on the 5D as im " afraid " to go past ISO 400. Anyhow , here was for me the best of the night. Its shot at 100 ISO/ 6oth of a sec at f1.6 . These were two guys sparring. The gym was tiny but highly charged and i felt alive and challenged in there. Its a great photo work out to not have time do do much except dial the settings and shoot. i will be back in there in a week to have another go on the basis i give the owner a copy of anything i get. What would you do to improve your odds in this environment ? With a 50mm should i prefocus for DOF and bump the ISO. Does DOF matter ? Would you freeze it by going AV ? They move sooo fast. A few basic pointers would be nice , although i like something in this image i know better is possible. It was lit with a flourscent and a 580ex of the black roof.
