with many thanks to everyone who took part in the challenge
here are my thoughts on the entries
'Catching the last train'
the girl running as though the small green man on the traffic light suddenly said 'go quick' is very good
also the fellow on the bicycle ( to the left of the picture) they add to the atmosphere
however the colours seem 'worn' tired and the picture seems a little fuzzy
but its as near as possible to what I requested
'Not Really Paying Attention to the Traffic Light '
gorgeous sky and scene just before darkness falls
its a favourite time of the day when the light is fading and all around shows up against the bright background which is changing rapidly
the lit up shop sign is really nice and those lights all along the road , including the traffic lights hanging across, another set with the red showing in there also
I think the foreground could be brightened ever so slightly without damaging the glow in that beautiful sky
everything around there may show up a bit better.
very nice scene overall
'doodles' from friday daytime meeting w/ 'traffic lights' and 'super bomberman'
ha ha ha. 'the longest title ever'
very clever. I enjoyed it very much
no traffic jams on paper
its a ' back to the drawing board' of traffic lights and the 'hold ups' which happen between man and vehicle
super bomber man seems to have run out of paper though
if he crossed that road he must have ran right off the torn edge and right into the snarls of a speeding car
or all those little animals in the square or even that little 'cute' bike
' and the traffic lights just stayed very still and watched the madness '
as they always do
' green light in the dark side '
it's a beautiful shot
love the composition, the clearness, the action coming out and then....... the light at the end of the tunnel
' green '
this shot has everything. the hustle and the bustle, the chaos and the goings on all around, the lights being mainly the object of their frustration (most times I imagine )
whether they be red or green or yellow or orange
and then the fellow cutting across the traffic
~ as if things were not bad enough
the picture is so clear
even though it seems you took it right from the driving seat
'The Intersection '
welcome . the first entry with the new G7
lovely shot. terrific show of fast moving vehicles yet some cars stopped dead by the lights
the traffic (red stripes) must have been moving really fast yet everything else looks so cool and peaceful with a lot of detail showing
however the white lights of the fast traffic and the restaurant (?) in the distance are blown
they spoil the overall appearance of what is being shown . most of which came out very well
the sky seems a bit blochy also.
with many thanks to you all, each and everyone
I liked all of the entries very much
its always hard to pick out some more then others
the Winner is : 3 Dart # 1
runners up :
to the winners and to everyone
Title: POTN G-series Speed Challenge # 91 -
'Traffic and Street lights by Day '
hoping to see photos of lights..... around the streets and shown by day
where possible traffic lights ( by day )
getting near dusk will be perfect but not night lit
would like to see the pictures including an atmosphere of what is happening all around
good composition is essential
unless there are no traffic lights next or near your abode then some excellent shots of your street lights (in day light or dusk) will be perfect... but showing some of the atmosphere of the street /people/ whatever is going on around the light(s) at the time you choose
all will be very much appreciated
please do your very best to enter and take part
