Besides the macro aspect is there a big difference between the Sigma 28-70mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses? Is the 24mm worth the extra $60 on a Canon Xt? Currently I am using the Sigma 17-70mm but would like to have the f2.8 all the way through. I would use the lenses in question mainly for indoor shooting. I am not to concerned about the macro aspect at all as I use my Sigma 70-300 lens for that. Thanks!

I think the 24-70 is a new design, so optically the lenses would be different.

worth more than that to me. on a 1.6 crop 28mm gives you no WA and 24mm gives you P&S WA.

28mm is a deal killer for me.

Yeah, the extra 4mm makes a big difference, and yeah, the 24mm i much newer.

Also, you will probably find that the 24mm version is a DG version.

Something to do with extra coatings or CA reductions or something... it is on the Sigma site (but IMO not all that important).
