Default BTCC Croft - Sunday

First time out to shoot moving cars, was a fab day out got plenty sun burns here and there, I blame the missus for not being prepared! Anyways I got spoken to quite a few of the photographers there, didn't ask if they were from here though.

Being a complete virgin at track shooting, I spent the morning shooting through wires and trying to get comfortable with shutter speed and settings. It was in the late afternoon session when I got the rythem going.

My gear is simple: 30D + Canon 70-200mm F4 L, the lens was soooo supportive through out the day, giving me the AF speed required every time and quality is very consistant, if any beginners like me need a zoom lens for motorsport this is no doubt the most suitable lens for you. It's ultra light weight too, I held it all day long without any issues, my legs gave up before my arms lol.

No hot chick shots, as I was with mine and lens needs a clean too lol.

Anyways here are a few shots I quite like, comments are welcome:

#1 Colin Turkington infront of Matt Neal

#2 Gardon Shedden with teammate Matt Neal behind

#3 Result from a big pile up at Clervaux

#4 SEAT Cupra cup winner

#5 Formula BMW

#6 Carrera cup

#7 Another Carrera

Very nice, more so if it was your first time.

I must have been pretty much stood at your feet when you took #3.

Cheers,

Simon.

Were you the guy who tied up your chair to the fence and came back later with a diet coke? He had a red ring lens on looks like a 24-70mm F2.8. haha.

Good effort for your first attempt. Watch out for cones though!
Nice capture of the flaming Plato.

I would have just about killed for a diet coke on Sunday afternoon.

I was on the other side of the fence, and was stood at the entrance to the chicane opposite the marshalls hut during that particular SEAT race.

Cheers,

Simon.
