Default Which of these lenses would work best for newborn photoshoot?

I am going to be taking newborn photos of my sisters friend this week. I have a 50mm 1.8 and a macro 100mm 1:2.8, 75-300mm 1.5/4.9 and 28-105mm. Which one should I use?

One more question....I have just started venturing off auto mode. So I am nervous about being on M mode for these photos. The mom knows I'm NO pro and just wants practice. So what is the best beginner mode to be in other than Auto? AV?

Thanks so much for any advice!

Why go to M mode? I'd stick with Av, pick an aperture that you want according to what DOF/shutter speed you want and adjust ISO to keep the shutter speed above hand-holding limits.

A combination of all three lenses (barring the 75-300) would probably be good - 50mm 1.8 for nice narrow-DOF shots, the macro for closeup detail and the 28-105 for wider shots.

I concur! The macro is great for catching those little bitty baby parts.

If you have an external flash such as the 430ex etc then you will do fine in manual. if you are shooting with ambient light get the baby near a large window with the babys eyes looking towards the window you will get very nice catchlights in the eyes.
if you have a nice sturdy table you can use and thats near a window place something soft on the table and put the baby on that you will get better angles than bending down.
