the colors are SPECTACULAR!!! geesh, for a 1st SLR, you REALLY got a good one! and obvisously u've done this before...NICE JOB!! those colors, my goodness!! i NEVER get bright colors like that...well done.

I've actually never held an SLR before in my life, so yes a 40D was quite the upgrade. The purchase was years in the making though as all I could do was dream about owning one in college and grad school. :) I would shoot all that I could with my little ELPH point and shoot though. My actual first session of any kind was my sister's maternity shoot (with my ELPH).Thank you for the kind words.

We're all learning together. That's the fun of it! Yeah, I only have the one lens for now. That alone with the camera was quite the expense. And to think it's only the beginning is scary. haha It's been crazy not being able to get a wide angle shot without standing 30 feet away. I'm so used to a zoom.

You have a very good eye, especially for someone who just getting their first DSLR. You must have had a lot practice with film cameras though right? Nice job!
