My newest purchase should see camera money diverted to fishing gear, wakeboards, maintenance, fuel, insurance and holiday bookings on rivers, dams or near the water...

Its gonna be a good summer.... but damn I wish i loved inexpensive hobbies :)

lol nice. I sail quite a bit but don't a boat (belong to a club). On another forum one once asked what owning a boat was like the overwhelming respone was it's like standing in a cold shower while emptying your wallet of any all cash while sobbing! :D

They are fun though, I love the water. Have a blast!

hahaha :) i like that analogy :) i might agree but instead of sobbing - grinning...

toughest thing is - im a swimming pool builder and get most work done when the weather is good.. but its oh so tempting to skip work on a nice sunny windless day and go boating... what sucks even more is im my own boss and can actually do that if i choose haha arggggh!

the 1d3 should come in handy with its weatherproofing now... although with the wakeboarding im always wanting to shoot video...

Super-Nicko - Pretty impressive that he can jump that high especially if the wakes are not that big. Congrats on the new boat. I love fishing, wakeboarding, and photography too.

Here is me edging in for a big jump.

I think you are mistaken. I believe you will find yourself spending more on camera equipment to capture the boating, wake boarding, and fishing that will be going on. I only say that because as a avid boater myself, I am always trying to find a new way to capture the great times on the water.

Yep, I agree, the way to curb temptation is to yield to it.

Ah yes. A boat. Another name for a boat- a hole in the water you throw money into, never to be seen again. :-)

Buy a house. It'd stop your spending for a while...

...then increase your spending power by many, many multiples when you sell it in 10-15 years time.

I think I need to come there for our winter. It is about 5 degrees C here right now. Getting chilly fast.

You just wrote eleven hours ago that it's going to be a great summer.

Do you live in the Southern Hemisphere?

Thank you. bw!
