I shoot at several schools and typically go for the traditional shots close up head and shoulders etc, I am shooting ages 6 mos to 4yrs in a week and wanted to get some options on the types of shots parents would want if you are a parent, I will have 2 rocking chairs, one very small one for the little ones, the traditional stool and a couple other props for different age groups, would you want to see a full length shot of a child or a close up ? Thanks for any advice

in my past experience, parents gonna want whatever images of their child. close up or full body shots. depending how many images you are letting them pick from.. i used to do, half body shot and a full body shot.

I think for younger kids (preschool and younger), a slightly different look from the traditional head and shoulders works well. You can use your chairs and do half-body shots. The chair also serves as a nice prop to utilize their hands, at least for the older kids like 3-4 year olds. btw, 6 months to 4 year olds is quite a range!
Here are a couple examples from a recent preschool session I did... ![]() ![]()
