Default auto focus in macro?

I have an IXY 800is.
I'm trying to take close ups of jewellery and I can't get sharp shots, there's always a bit of movement and blur.

Ages ago I took successful photos of small objects and these were sharp but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to get that setting again.

Can anyone help please?

Dunno. Post a pic of both a "good" and "bad" shot with EXIF and I can try to see. I use a 650IS and hardly ever have this problem. Maybe you are too close for the macro af, or have zoomed in too much for it. Am...

did you set the macro mode on, If you use the center focus point you will see a green rectangle on center when correctly focused

There's no green rectangle. It's so sensitive to movement - just my breathing seems to make it blurry, even though I'm holding it as still as possible. I don't tremble or anything.
It didn't use to do this, that's why I think it's a settings problem.
