I shot only in JPG.

Great focal for soccer is 300mm 2.8 for x1,6 or 400mm for x1,3. Ideal when You have second body with 70-200 2.8.

hehehehe, maybe tomorrow i should use my 30D + 70-200 to shoot night soccer as back up for 1D3+3002.8is

Nice shots, this lens is a must for sports, and the camera still great, it was my first camera to shoot sports and because of it [30D] i bought 1D2N.
I always shoot RAW+JPEG in sports or soccer

WOW!!! How have I been missing this thread?

I absolutely love your work here. I also use the 70-200 f/2.8L for shooting soccer and like to say it isn't too short on a crop camera. You have proved this better than I ever could.

For all of us that struggle at times with our xxD series bodies, this once again confirms that to find the answer to out problems, we only need to look in the mirror.

Thanks for sharing and please keep them coming!

Regards,
Jeff

I try that every morning and haven't found the answer for my struggles with my 40D AI Servo. Maybe it's the 30D AI Servo that works better. I don't know.

Referring to the #58 above, I don't think I could ever pull off a crop like that looking so sharp out of my 40D.

Would you like to trade your 40D with my 30D? 40D will do as 30D and even better slightly, give me any canon camera and i will show you, even 10D or older digital DSLRs [not talking about film], but those xxD cameras are fast enough for some actions if you know about timing, i am sure your 40D AI servo is great, give it more time.

Just curious if you've tried (or are) using centerpoint only focus?

I do feel like the biggest deal about going from a xxD to a 1DMkx would be the AF capability. Bound to be more accurate and versatile.

That said, B4TB-wise the xxD series is hard to beat for an enthusiastic amateur such as myself.

Not yet, but I am tempted to pick up a 30D just to see.

Yes. I do everything by the book, yet, I struggle. I am still practicing / learning.

Beleive me, 40D will be as great or maybe slightly better than 30D, so look at mirror what is wrong with the shooter [user].

Like I said above, I do look in the mirror all the time. Maybe my mirror needs calibration
