I left my retainers in a hotel in London... luckily, they were kind enough to ship them back to me. Ha ha! I agree: contact the hotel.

Yeah I thought that was kinda funny also, I've had mine for over three years and it still works fine.

Lenses should have a GPS tracking device!

I am experienced with fast lenses and tested several sigmas under controlled conditions. The pebcap comment certainly doesn't apply to any of the ones I tested (for reference I have used the 35L, 85L, 24L all without issue) I guess you're one of the lucky ones with a good copy, or shoot mainly at short subject distances where the problem doesn't exist. I've had two that focussed as much as 6 feet from focus point! Phil

Sorry I generalized the PEBKAC, 6 foot is really something not acceptable... Happy shooting!

My Canon 50mm 1.4's AF and MF died after only two years. It's actually pretty common for this lens, there's several threads here and on other sites about this.

it arrived, been playing with it during the weekend.
Is sharp on spot focus. AF "seems" a hair slow but it could be just a "i feel", no way to notice it. IQ is awsome and can share my 77mm lens ^^b
