Hope everybody doesn't mind if I ask questions about using my camera in here?

The on/off switch seems to have 2 on positions. Is there a reason for that?

Yes, the middle option locks the control dial. It's in the manual!

Ok thanks,, guess I didn't notice the Hockey Stick thing on the camera so it wasn't registering when reading the manual.

Hey!
Just joined the forums because i just bought a 50D and all of the questions i googled found had the best answers in these forums!

So my first week with the camera, here is one from this morning!
(sorry but i put reasonably large watermarks on some photos if they are making their way to facebook in particular - like this one did)

Don't worry about it. I had to search my manual on my 30D over and over to find that info. For some reason I kept missing it.
