Your Best Wedding Group Shot?

Jan 09, 2010 21:04 |  #1

I would love to see some posts of favorite/best group shots from weddings. I would post my own, but I don't have a wedding shoot under my belt yet! :D

I love how everyone is making the hearts with their fingers! And the little girls covering their eyes while the kissing is going on is too cute!

and i love this one because of the pregnant girl. shutter speed was not even close to fast enough. nor was angle... this was our first larger group wedding shot. up until this point it had been all small 4-6 person weddings.

Actually, I wasn't very high at all. I was standing on a chair and holding the camera up above my head. I just used a 10-22 lens to get everyone in.

As for the sky, the key is flash. The only way to get a clean sky and sun and clean subjects together in one shot is to put them into the same dynamic range, by providing your own artificial light. No HDR, no layering, no adjustment brushes needed. Just learn to use flash effectively and you're golden.

You can tell I am a vertically challenged girl--height always fools me! So how doyou make sure your subjects are in focus if the camera is being held above your head like that?

You answered an unasked question of mine--if HDR was involved. That is incredible that you can get those results without it! I am just beginning to experiment with OCF and am excited about the results I will be getting!
