Sorry to hear about your B&H mess. I posted about six days ago that they had no record of my email request for notification from October. I was told if I had entered my email address in October it would be listed. I reentered it in January and again a second time this month. I'm now weeks away(Adorama) and on a short list at Crutchfield...Thanks 'daytonphotog' for the heads-up and no idea from B&H

Glad to see someone else could fill my spot on there list.

Via the UK. Still no firm dates here. I wonder how many have been shipped in the States (must be thousands).

Ok, I've put some test shots up on my pbase.com site:

http://www.pbase.com …son/1d_mark_iv_test_shots (external link)

The series of shots which have my husband running in front of my daughter are CE4C0476-c.jpg-->CE4C0485-c.jpg. I have a series of shots of my daughter running towards me which I plan to upload later. I want to run the same test of AI Servo with a temporary obstruction with the lens wide open. I've really struggled with maintaining focus on an object far away with a shallow depth of field. If I can master that with the Mark IV it I will be one happy camper....

Thanks very much! They look great! Lots of pix appearing now. Waiting on the full review but methinks I'm going for one Mid March when some more are freely available. And I've got some bonus to spend too of course!

I was told by my dealer in Sydney yesterday that Canon Australia have kept a lot of Mk IVs for themselves because of the Australian Open this month. Makes sense to be honest.

Doesn't go any distance to explain why the UK is being treated that way though.

Each Canon region is treated as a seperate company from Canon Japan and they have to BUY their units from Head Office. Maybe Canon UK forgot to buy them :/

i was told the same thing yesterday while here at the medibank, apparently Canon will be letting pros use them at the Open like they did with the mark3 when it came out

I wouldn't upgrade to anything if I was satisfied with what I've got.

That's too consumerist a mentality. If you like what you have, there's no need to "upgrade". We are photographers, not gear heads.
