Hey all

I just was playing around with an chip adapted Nikkor 135. Extended the hood to grab some test shots...then went to go put it away (I'm at work), and the darn thing aint budging!

Any ideas on how to retract the telescoping lens hood ring without busting anything up. The lens is in MINT condition and I'd like to keep it that way.

thanks in advance all.

erick

My Canon FD 135 has a built in hood that gets stuck sometimes.

I just take a cloth and place it over the front and gently force it back. Wiggle side to side if you have to, but don't get too excessive.

Matt: Nope, its not moving at all...

Alan: I'm a bit reluctant to get WD40 anywhere near the elements on this thing....that stuff is crazy to get off optics, plus the issue of leakage.

Try a small drop of silicon fluid dropped off a toothpick onto the mating surfaces.
