One more from a shoot I did a few weeks back. I'm still going through the batch of photos and finding gems...

Ok I have to ask what your settings were and did you use OCF and reflectors. How far away from you model were you? I can't wait till summer gets here. You have done a superb job. I need to get clicking with this lens.

Thanks!!!

I was about 10 - 12 feet away using my 430ex Speedlight mounted on my camera (due to rain in the area I didn't want to chance setting up the light gear). The heavy cloud cover gave me the perfect defused lighting. :D

I always shoot in Manual Mode. Here's the settings:

f/2.8 @ 200/sec using ISO 200

First shots with the 7D and new light tent. Hand held, so they're not great but certainly nice enough for me..

I got mine primarily to duplicate old slides and film and got an excellent lens that became a all-round favorite. I would prefer the 60 mm macro before the cheep favorite 50 1.8 if one extra prime was the objective. 2.8 is pretty good and you get USM and macro, there will always be a need for occasionally to document small stuff.

My very first shot with a SLR (Minolta XG2 + 50mm kit lens), September 1978, Kodachrome 64 (duplicated with 60m – exp 160/1, f/8 and ex 430 ETTL):

100 %:

And all those old yellow indoor shots will be easily corrected digitally with white balance.
