Default Noisy image woes

Hi.

I have a 600D and I'm having issues with slightly noisy footage (most noticeable in skin areas) and wondered if anyone has any advice that might help?

I'm shooting at the lowest iso setting (100) with decent light and the right exposure at f1.8 on my Canon 50mm.

It's not that bad that it's unusable but I just wish I knew why it was coming out like that. It's frustrating to say the least! Perhaps it's just that it's a cheaper camera.

Thnaks.

Stuart.

Hey Stuart you may want to look into picture profiles there is a sticky thread in this section.

I have been using the Flaat profiles that are great and free.
"The Flaat suite for Canon DSLRs includes two sets of picture styles:
* One based on Portrait, for better skin tones
* One based on Neutral, for more accurate colors (but worse skin tones)"

Also putting Magic Lantern on your camera will give you more setting and features in controlling your final image. I must have.....

Thanks, that's all great stuff.

I'm actually using the Cinestyle colour profile and have magic lantern installed but I'll go back to the start and see if I can find a solution.

Thanks again.

Stuart

You should not have noise in your footage if iso, picture style and apeture and frame rate correct...
Try iso 160, cinema profile $19, viewfinder for focus, frame rate 25p or 24 usa, or even 30p... make sure apeture spot on by the middle of the meter bar...use shutter speed double what your frame rate is so 25, 50 shutter, ect... steve
