The farther I go in this game, the more I understand there's no perfect shot. I wouldn't call the shadow harsh and push come to shove, I could certainly alleviate it in Color Efex, but I've learned to let some things go or all I'd be doing is editing all the time. Yes, the elbow is blocking part of his face, but not the important part. Both eyes are still clearly visible and above all, that's what I'm looking for. Sports is a funny business, I've seen shots on the front page of major newspapers that people on here would've found 10 things wrong with, but it only takes that one right thing.

Here's another. Shadow is still there, but if you know of a way to get rid of it when the sun is at high noon and they're all wearing baseball caps, key me in.

Elray - is the clay on the mounds on that field really as pebbled as these look? I've shot at a lot of NCAA fields, and never seen ones built like that. They are usually made of clay and then have been tamped down to be smooth. Shots otherwise look swell... the mounds really jump out to me. Just different.
