The kind of cameras apple would make would be geared towards usability and user friendliness, meaning, most likely not many settings to fiddle with.

No, I think they'd be geared toward very stylish, übercool look so when you're using it people notice. What it does isn't important, how it looks is.

A completely valid point. Minimalism and aesthetic appeal has always been a massive core value for Apple. However, I still feel that one of apple's other main values is ease of use. They want their audience to be able to fully use the device out of the box without a learning curve. That is the magic of apple, anyone from a young toddler to a senior citizen can use an iPad. Because of this simple fact, apple products are never really meant to capture the market of enthusiast users.

An Apple camera would only have one button. Is that the kind of camera you'd want?

Apple camera and I are in Yosemite Valley. "Hey camera wake up" "OK Rick, what do you want me to photograph?" "Take a photo of Half Dome, make it look like the Ansel Adams photo Half Dome and Moon he shot in 1960" "Rick, there is no moon and it's daylight" "So what. Deal with it and take the picture. I've got stuff to do" |
