Some do, some don't... Just from one day's walkabout...

Wow! Everyone is friendly and gives a lot of great advice on here. I see what you all mean about buying more lenses to soon. It would make more sense to learn the ones I have. It is good to know that the two I do have should be able to handle a majority of what I am wanting/needing at this point.

With all the suggestions on getting a flash I am going to look into that. Hopefully I can swing it in the budget. We just bought a house and as I said the baby will be here soon. If not it will go on my Christmas wish list. Then again I could just work a little OT. Hmmmm........

The 50 is ok, but I haven't found it to *really* be all that useful, so far. It sits, most of the time. As for a macro, I think that the 100mm non-L, from Canon is one of the best 'bang for the buck' lenses out there; the glass is, again, phenomenal and images produced are crazy sharp even before processing/cleanup.

Are you in Seattle, Seattle; or one of the outlying areas? I'm out in Issaquah, these days.
I'm actually in Renton.

So I'm reading Understanding Exposure 3rd edition. Talks about putting the camera to manual mode and setting an f/5.6 and focus on a subject. Then change the shutter speed until a correct exposure shown while looking through the view finder. What exactly am I looking for in the view finder to know I have the correct setting? Currently confused.......
