Wait, all that time and all I get is "Cream of the Damn Crop" ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Isn't that crazy? I just heard about that on the radio yesterday.
Selling like hotcakes too.. who has $17K for a rifle? And I thought the SA M-14 I have always dreamed about was out of reach! FreakDaddy, your sons custom rifle is amazing. Who did the custom work? |

It has a 20" heavy barrel since it will be primarily used for varmint hunting, some deer hunting and a lot of plinking at various ranges plus I went ahead and had the barrel threaded should he ever decide to put a supressor on it. The rail is the owner's design that is 15" (he has other sizes too) and it accepts the various rail adapters available. The bolt is nickel boron coated which is also a really nice feature as is the Magpul PRS stock. The only thing left to do to it is to put a bipod on it which I'll do for him and a different trigger which he needs to cover that expense LOL! He was back last week from deployment for a few days which also happened to be at the time of his birthday. Having the gun completed to give to him was a great bonus and he was ecstatic with it. The first three shots grouped within a 1/2" at 100 yards with Federal American Eagle bulk ammo and the gun functioned flawlessly in the 200 rounds we ran through it. It will be really interesting to see what this thing will do with a better trigger and some premium ammo as even with the cheap stuff, no grouping exceeded 1" MOA. After we got it dialed in, we set up a little "Shooting Gallery" just to blast at and have fun. With three of us out there with AR's, we set up 30 targets and it was some great friendly competition to see who could hit the most in the shortest time using various shooting postions...good times! ![]() |

Well, based on your images above, it looks like you earned it for sure. Very nice.
Can't imagine a better birthday gift for a son deployed in the Navy! |
