Thank you both. Appreciate you taking the time and the compliments.

#2 was one of my favorites of the day. Right before that picture the flower girl ran up to the bride and said "I'm the most beautiful girl in the wedding..... Well, next to you" then plopped down on the bed and smiled at herself for 30 seconds lol.

Very nice and what a great venue for shooting. You matched your shooting style and processing to the venue perfectly. 1, 5 & 6 are exceptionally good quality.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment. I really appreciate the feedback.

Dave, the venue was definitely phenomenal. It really makes our job a lot easier shooting in a location like this, especially when one entire wall is a giant soft box lol. The bride was a friend of mine from my day job and asked me if I would be willing to travel from Ohio to Baltimore to shoot her wedding. I was very hesitant at first even when she said she would cover all my travel (9 hour drive) but then she showed me the venue and I couldn't resist lol. Saw it as a great portfolio opportunity over the typical reception halls and well worth the trip (helps my folks are only a hour and half from Baltimore so I could use it as a reason to visit home as well lol).

Here is one more pic I'd thought I'd throw up here because it is one of the coolest wedding cakes I have ever seen. The groom and groomsmen were all Penn State grads so he convinced her to have this made.

Wouldn't change a thing. I think they have sufficient emotional impact to burst through any technicality mumbo-jumbo opinion anyone can throw at it - it absolutely captures my attention and creates an emotional impact.

I especially love the last one and the dancing shot.

For the dance, did you use strobes? Pardon my newb questions on lighting...

Thank you for the comments.

As far as the lighting went the dancing ones above were all natural light. I shoot alone and I had my 600EX's set up elsewhere cause I was told that they were doing their first dance elsewhere. That has happened before where I am told one thing and something completely different happens and I just end up bouncing my on camera speedlite with a bounce card attached. But this time the giant wall of windows was there so I just shot the first dances thinking of that as a giant soft box and positioning myself accordingly.

After the first dances though I moved my two off camera 600's so that I could shoot into the wall of windows as desired. In the picture below (not the first dance, this was the very end of the day and they just snuck away for a dance while everyone was leaving) I have one 600 camera left and slightly forward of me and the second 600 camera right and behind me. Because the ceilings were black, very high, and I needed as much power as I could get out of them to overpower the wall of windows they were bare and pointed directly at the dancefloor. I was also firing my on camera 600 which was pointed up, with a bounce card attached, not sure how much fill it actually added though (set to ETTL).

My typical set up is something similar to what Tim posted in the wedding discussion section, I think it's a sticky. I have the two off camera speedlites bouncing of the ceiling and one on camera bounced for some fill and for when I'm in different area of the venue. Hope that helps.

Same set up as above, of course they did all their toasts, bread breaking, and cake cutting with their backs to all those windows. First time i ran into recycle issues with my speedlites even with battery packs attached.
