On yesterday's field trip, we only encountered savannah sparrows, darlings that they are. Upon my return, I had just stepped in the door when the phone rang. It was my bird friend Lee from down the road, telling me he had chipping sparrows, Harris's sparrows, and white-crowned sparrows in his yard, among other things. I haven't seen a Harris's in years and recent white-crowned sightings have all been fall juveniles. I may have hit 65 mph on the 1/2 mile drive to his house.

Wonderful shots Allan, I would love to have one of the Harris Sparrows show up down here.

Great job Al! I have not seen a Harris. I saw my first White Crowned yesterday at my feeder I must be at the very end of their range I had no clue what it was till I looked it up.

Al, you hit a treasure trove of Sparrows! All very good looking to boot. I love the Chipping Sparrow, but that is because they are one of my most favorites. Good shooting.

Exceptional renderings of a few of the sparrow clan Al... lovely shots all of them. I especially like the Harris's Sparrow who I see sparingly as he passes through.
