I have a 60D and waiting to see if new camera bodies will be announced in the next month or so. I expect a Digic 5 processor like the T4i, but with additional bells and whistles.

It would not surprise me that Canon doesn't have bodies ready for market in a vault, waiting to see how to play there cards. They have a long term BUSINESS plan, that could change depending what the competition does or already has done..

Someone else said, he would love to sit in at the board meeting, to see how far off all that commented here was off or on, there speculations/predictions. I am sure some may have it hit it on the head, and others way off.

Personally I dont care what they name it..Just give each segment of the Canon users there designated body for there given field that they are asking for.. Many are on hold $$$ after the release of the competions high MP body. Waiting to see Canon's next move in the market. Others have moved onto the competition.

Thus far they have introduced
T4i amatures
5DIII semi pro/pro wedding shooters, hobby enthusiasts >>>> many complaining they want more MP
1Dx pro

Speculated
70D a upgrade to the 60D
7D II to replace 7D

Also the speculated 3D to fit in under the 5D III but with more MP

Specifications on all bodies speculated on, remain to be seen. Each user having there wish list of specifications.

It would not surprise me that Canon monitors photo forums around the world, since they are a global business, to get a fill what the photo enthusists are commenting on. Which may play in there market decisions .

Bianchi,

You've missed out the star of the show, the 46mp (or more?) IDs replacement with good low ISO performance, minimal video and good DR. Canon have been rethinking their decision to go with just the 1Dx if that was ever truly the case, which I doubt.

Nikon have reset the benchmark with the D800e and Canon are going to have to raise their game to stay in the competition. Unless they only want to make video cameras that is!

sure there are no guarantees but the numbering scheme seems to indicate there will eventually be a 70D, probably an 80D and 90D

(but no 4D !)

Based on Canon's numbering scheme though, I would think that the 3D would fit between the 5DIII and the 1Dx, not below it.
