On first look, I don't get a lot of emotion from the couple. In most of the photos they're just kind of standing next to each other or sitting by each other, not showing any real love. That's not a knock on the photos, just my first reaction. Also, probably would have cleaned up their skin in a few of the closer ones.

Maybe its just me, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of emotion between the two of them, if I didn't know this was an engagement shoot I would swear they were brother and sister! The shoot was very well done, number 5 in the first set would be my favorite.

Yeah, the photos are fine, nothing wrong there, just didn't see an emotional connection between them and maybe that's just how they are, which is fine. Also, in #4, is that a key fob she's got in her hand or what?

Lighting is nice, but I would call the session just so-so. If I didn't know it was an e-session, I'd have thought they were brother and sister. There's no connection at all. E-sessions should be all about there relationship with each other and not about their relationship with your camera. When I shoot e-sessions, I think I take a total of three poses with them looking at the camera, the rest are them looking at each other and interacting with one another.

My first pose is to sit them on a bench and tell them to chat with each other, then back off and shoot the interaction. If the sit at opposite ends of the bench, I ask them to move closer together. Once they've had a few minutes to chat, I ask them to cuddle together on the bench. By the time we are done with that bench (10 minutes max), they are over being self conscious in front of the camera.

I just noticed you are in MA - if you are free on Thursday, we have a few seats still open for the posing workshop we are doing in Maine. PM me for details.

I agree, they seem very stiff to me. You need some affection and emotion here.
