Default Mini tti problem with 5d Mark iii

Has anybody else experienced any problems using PW mini tt1 and the 5d mark iii. Mine will not give me consistent exposure values.. It jumps all over the place in manual exposure. Av seems to work ok. Anybody?

According to this link dated Aug. 6, the firmware has not yet been updated for the 5D3. Are you trying to use the PWs to control Speedlites thru ETTL or just as a simple trigger for strobes.

Both..I guess there is nothing to date on when that update should be available?

Their announcement just says: Compatibility for the Canon 5D Mark III is not available at this time but firmware for this camera should be available in the near future.

Back to my original question, I could see how you might be having exposure issues using the PWs for ETTL with Speedlites. But are you having any problems using them to trigger strobes? I might be missing something but I'm not seeing how using them as a simple trigger for strobes could have any effect on exposure.

No whats going on is as soon as I put the camera in manual mode with the tti on it, if I dial in an aperature setting my shutter speed will also move.. I almost cant use them indepently.. and the random settings wont make sense like they would in say AV or P.. they just jump to any value.. or sometimes wont move at all!

That's interesting. I just got a 5D3 a couple of weeks ago and haven't yet tried to do anything with my PWs and strobes. Maybe I'll get a chance to experiment with it this coming weekend.

One idea - have you tried setting the aperture and shutter speed you want without the tt1 on your camera and then attaching it afterwards? I know that is far from ideal but perhaps it could be a workaround until they get the firmware updated.
