Op all depends on what you shoot. Try nighttime football without flash for example. Pretty soon you will find out that you need ISO 6400 and f2.8. Now f2.8 as no lens faster than that unless you want to use 200mm f1.8 or f2 for football which is quite limited focal length wise.
