The 1st and last were "natural" light slight pull in post about 1 stop maybe more. The other I ran 2 off camera and 1 camera using PW TT5's. Those were firing about 80% of the time. Even shaded, direct line of site 10-30 feet from me they had reception issues!

Not exactly pumped on that, also if I try and run them ETTL instead of manual sometimes they bounce the cmaeras off high speed and revert to 250 shutter. Still haven't figured that out yet!

Thats last one was with the 300 F2.8 L IS BTW....

Great shots!!! If your using the 580exii flash your doing good at 80%. I use the same setup for BMX racing but I use 430exii flash and have no problem with misfires.

Yeah still think it's funny they suck so bad even with 20-30 feet of them!

As much as I like these shots, the 4th one really made me pause for a second and think to myself:

Did he just cut this guy out and stick him on a background? I am not sure WHY it looks this way, perhaps external flashes lit him him too well and created an image that looked too seperated from the background?

(Or maybe I am just crazy, I don't really know anything about lights, so disregard me if I am completely wrong!)

Ciao!

Kevin he had 2 stobes hitting him at almost full power. I panned him but not slow enough. Should have done like 1/60th or so I think.

if you look at it a certain way, it looks like it could be a bad photoshop edit. Like they cut him out and pasted him at the "top" of the trail instead of where he would be depth properly wise. The flash is what made that happen. I think a little less depth would have minimized that effect.

Ciao!
