Is the last one not "Babs" the former world land speed record car? This was a chain driven car and during a record attempt on Pendine Sands in Wales, the chain snapped and decapitated the driver.

Babs was buried on Pendine Sands but was exhumed and restored and now appears at Goodwood and VSCC events.

Yes, the white one is "Babs". If often lurks in the Brooklands Museum during the off season.

Babs reached a top speed of 174.xxx mph in 1927. Babs has a 27 litre aeroplane engine.

There was some controversy over that, yes. Many people felt that it should have remained there.

Yes, there was a lot of controversy, but at least the car is being used and not stored away in a museum or private collection.

Its a similar situation with Campbell's Bluebird when that was raised from Coniston Water, some people said that it should have remained there.

Seems a little dark if you ask me. Takes away from some of the details.
