I shot this of my Eurasian Eagle Owl several years ago and used the Painter filter in Photoshop to achieve this look.

very beautiful. i think the filter works well for this--looks like a painting. this image might be worth trying fancier paint stroke filters, or perhaps even doing it manually.

nice work folks, time to clean off the hard drive for some more scratch disk and storage space and give something like this a try. Hopefully I won't induce any flashbacks to my college days.


anyone have tips or tricks for Photoshop CS4 with Pixel Bender or anything else?

edit: on second thought, a flashback or two might not be so bad. :D
