Default The 2011 Malcolm Wilson Rally (fashionably late)

It's been a while since i posted anything on here, or indeed managed to use a camera in anger. I probably would have posted some from the Riponian a few weeks ago but the 7D went haywire after getting a drop (yes, 1 drop) of water in the shutter release....luckily it has now recovered. Be careful if you have one, the hype about sealing is just that...hype.

Anyhoo, i tootled over to Cumbria with Simon "Spielberg" Harrison for this one. I'm not entirely sure we picked the best spots in Greystoke for photos, but i'll inflict a few on you anyway

1. Escort being Escort-like.

2. The infamous Peugeot-Cosworth of Andy Burton. What an amazing machine.

3.The sort of shot i hoped our afternoon position would provide. Sadly, very few of the crews played along.

4. That car again. In spite of the smoke screen they went on to take the overall win by just 7 seconds.

For the gear snoops, they were all with the 7D & Sigma 120-300.

Bloody hell Geoff!
I thought mine would be the last set from this rally
Really like No3 Geoff, Mr Brick was soooo sideways everywhere i saw him!
Greystoke is not the nicest of stages for photos in my opinion.....although the stage layout did look a lot better this year on the maps i saw!

I've had these uploaded for a few days but only just got around to posting them here

Ideally we'd have gone to Grizedale as we know it quite well, but as Grizedale North & South run consecutively we'd only have seen 1 run.

Like these a lot Geoff, particularly #3. That looked great on the screen just after you'd taken it

Definitely #3 for me Geoff. Not sure if it's my monitor, but the colours may look a bit flat?

One of those god-awfull dull late winter days in Cumbria i'm afraid. I did play with the colours but they looked overdone no matter what i tried, so i left them alone

Nice Geoff, great focus and dof with the 7d and Siggy, was a weird light all day though, glare in the morning and then just flatness as you say........
