I was viisting my sisters farm and her hubby had to do some work on the machinery. I've wanted to try and take some welding shots before but never had the opportunity. The trick was to set up on the triood and then turn your back once the welding started.

Nice shots. Looks like a difficult subject to capture. Nice Job.

Did you have any problems or artifacts with your sensor afterwards? I worry that the light will "burn" the sensor.

I don't want to hijack the tread, but here another welding picture for you.
On this shot, the guy don't weld. It's a special procedure called "ARCAIR" which consist of a Carbon rod and compressed air to remove material, welds, to cut things. It's loud, bright, make a lot of fumes. Not something you can do in your home garage. These things can suck around 10kw while gouging. Here's the picture. ![]()

Here's another one.
This one consist of a Computer controlled Plasma cutting system, Which cut all our materials that we weld. It can cut through steel, stainless, aluminium. 1/16" to 1-1/2" That particular machine can suck 30kw of electricity to cut. Which is bright and loud. Normally, we cut underwater to control fumes. But on this case, the tube was too big to be underwater. ![]()
