Just jump in whenever, there are 4-5 conversations going on at any one time in here anyway, I'm sure you could find at least one you can partake in.

Whats up Martin.

Its a packed day!!! Im going to the new meadowlands stadium to watch team USA vs Argentina. Mayras little brother is a huge Messi fan and he plays for Argentina so we are surprising him with this. Damn expensive soccer tickets!!! 160 each to sit close! I cant take my camera like i did last year vs Brazil. The stadium changed their policy and its at their discretion what they let in now. Im not going to risk some jerk telling me i cant take my camera in.

Then after the game i have to come back and get dressed for mayras friends bday party at a lounge here in the city. smh Its going to be one long tiring day!

The other sad bit is that the NZXT phantom lacks a 3.5" bay adapter (ie, the size of a floppy drive, or what most card readers are) so theres no place to put a card reader in the case

Thats really the only big design fault with it though...

2600k, it outruns everything short of the i7-980X or 990X...

its also cheaper...

The only reason you ever need to go SLI is if you are playing the latest and greatest games and are running your resolution at like 2560x1600 or greater.
Exactly i dont think Jay needs that. He wants the best and fastest for imaging. Unless he other wise states it. I would put in a decent card just in case he want to do some video.

Yeah...

If it was premiere I'd go 970, but for photoshop I think the speed of the 2600k is more beneficial. The downfall is, it's a lot harder to get lots of ram for a LGA1155 setup than it is for a LGA1366 setup.

NZXT Phantom
Corsair AX850 850Watt PSU (You only need 1000+ if you're planning to run GTX580s in SLI or A gtx590)
Asus Sabertooth P67
Core i7-2600k @ 4.5ghz
Thermalright Venomous X CPU cooler w/ 2x Scythe S-Flex fans
8gb (2x4gb) G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3-1600 CAS8 @ 1650mhz
eVGA GTX570
X-Fi Titanium HD Sound Card (MUCH better than the Fatality in terms of audio quality)
2x 500gb Western Digital RE4s in RAID 0 (1TB)
1x 2TB Western Digital Caviar Green
Windows 7 Ultimate

^- thats what it looks like inside The only thing im currently missing is a card reader...

its pretty much silent...

Id seriously recommend building it yourself....
Kenji is this a new picture? Looks sweet

It outruns it yes, but once you get into heavy multitasking it quickly falls behind. There are plenty of instances where the speed just can't make up for the lack of 2 cores and 4 threads.

True...-blink- is the i7-970 a 6-core?

Cause -core for core- the i7-2600k I believe is the strongest performer out there

Yeah, it's kinda like morning to me too. Was up till 3:30am, woke up around 6, then 9. Was way to comfy and sleepy to get out of bed so I stayed there till noon. So I've been up for two hours (awake for more though). Did get a bunch of dishes done.

Good points by both of you. I would give him the sandybridge. And try to get the RAM up there. He also does flight sims so i would give him a GPU to blow out whatever flight sims are out there. Jay has the budget its just about finding the happy medium between what will do that job and not overkill.
