I have to get back up to speed on the geek stuff since I'm looking to upgrade my PC in the next 90 days. So I'm following along to see what advice Jay gets.

here's my take... GPU... I think its general consensus here that Nvidia is better Power supply, according to the majority as well.. buy anything as long as its Corsair. its a very important part of the PC btw, I never reached $2,800 w/ my build... we have the same motherboard, cpu 1set G skills 2 x 4GB ram 1600mhz 1pc G Skills 120gb Phoenix Pro SSD 1pc WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD 1pc Corsair HX750 1pc Evga GTX-580 SC GPU (sneaky GPU, ask Martin haha) I am at around $2,200 (and considering I am in the Philippines, you should be able to get those at lesser price). I need something that will run CS5 and LR3 without making me feel like I'm forever waiting for the screen to change. |

when we arrived there, the Mall won't allow us to unload the materials until 9pm. he then started blaming me for not agreeing to the 9pm schedule and blah blah blah... he kept talking and blaming me... I got fed up and just bombarded him with words in the end, he calmed down and we talked and all's well yeah I was actually replying to his post when you posted this |

And if I want to go closer to $2k with dual graphics cards and a decent sound card?
I also use this PC to steer the antennas and tune the radios for amateur radio satellites. The sound card is used to demodulate digital sat signals. |
