Rather than post a few cherry picked shots here I decided to link the entire clients wedding gallery, this is the clients gallery to share with friends and family.
Rainy windy day outside, so the park we were going to shoot all the family and wedding party shots was off limits so we shot them inside with flash....it was dark dark in there the entire time. The rain stopped for 20 minutes at just the right time so the wedding party could cue up outside and we could get a few pictures....then the clouds opened up again. The ladies showed up an hour late for pictures so the photography time was cut down to just a few minutes here and there....rush rush rush....so a typical wedding Here is the link: http://alloutdoor.smugmug.com/Weddin...38802332_a7cBo

I started to look at them but got very annoyed at the random order they seem to be in, they look like nice shots from what I saw but trying to see the flow of the day was impossible, if that's your client gallery I would have a rethink on how its presented, its not a good experience.
Why is the order all over the place ?

Most people only look at the first 10 pictures or so.....I front load the gallery with favorites.
All the important things that need to be in order are in order...garter, bouquet, ceremony, cake cutting, further into the gallery....as you only looked at the first 10 pictures....like everybody usually does...you didn't get to that point. Those are the things that only the family and people that know the bride and groom will look through all the pictures to get to. The overall gallery is not a chronology of the day.

I didn't just look at the first page, I went through quite a few pages trying to understand the order of the day and then jumped forward and looked at the last few pages including the very last page which had pre ceremony and ceremony photos on it, every page seems to have some dance photos on it ...... at that point I decided there was no order to the photos at all. I say again. 332 photos randomly arranged with little or no apparent order will not be a pleasant viewing experience for anyone.

I agree with Jon. Nice shots but the presentation is not so much. There's no flow, and I got to page 9.

No problem, as I said the gallery is not a chronology of the day. The gallery is not meant to have a flow. The photos that need to be in sequence are in sequence.
The ceremony is at the end, photos 265 thru 331 chronologically from just prior to the ceremony thru the ceremony to just after. I know from my analytics that after 10-20 photos the viewing drops off sharply, people don't sit and go through the entire gallery....you jumped back and forth looking for what you expected to find....bet you weren't there for 2 minutes. Until I knew this fact I used to put the gallerie as a chronicle of the day, now I don't. Since I started frontloading the galleries with the best shots the photos get A LOT more views. Since I know this is true I front load the galleries with the best photos. Normally everyone appreciates seeing the best shots first...I know the Brides do. For the people who are actually involved family and friends, they look at the entire slideshow and so they see all the shots and spend enough time there to see that all the parts of the day that need to be in sequence are in sequence.

All feed back is valid, I don't look at it like complaining.
I tried to explain why I changed the style of the galleries. Most photographers don't make all their galleries public..they lock them up. I don't take any clients who would make me lock up their galleries. I do my best to create art every time out....not just record the events. So in my galleries I am showcasing the art, not a record of the days events. I don't want to tuck the days gems down in the middle of a gallery where nobody will see them, I put them right up front.

Each to their own but personally I think your systems bonkers and I don't see any system employed at all except one of randomness, I didn't find any pictures that went in sequence.
If I were a guest at one of your weddings that system would annoy the heck out of me and I would probably give up looking at them after a couple of pages, so I aren't surprised your analytics stats back that up. Structure lets people find things quicker, passwords protect clients privacy. You have some nice photos but some strange ideas and your website doesn't do your work justice tbh.

Why would I post a few, click on the link. My favorites are in the first 50 shots.
If you didn't find any picture in sequence it is because you didn't try...having a bad day? People who visit my site spend an average of 6 minutes there...so evidently they don't have as short a fuse as you do. Structure is boring, I don't shoot people who value their privacy so much that I can't show the photos. Passwords also protect photographers whose work does not stand up to the competition. You are small minded and need to loosen up, one thing I do agree on is my website could be better, I pay $120. a year for it, I can change it at will any time I want. Works for me, I am as busy as I want to be so seems to be working out ok. I posted a gallery just to share some work with the people here....it turned into a pissing match with some grumpy old dude in England...how fun!

Ohh, this is getting testy. I will hold back my opinion on the gallery. That being said, it is difficult to give comments on each one, so I guess I will just say...
Looks good. Nice shots.

You posted a link which implied you were looking for feedback, so far all you have done is try and guess wrongly what I have done and now your calling me names ......... sorry but I think you are bonkers. I am having a fine day thanks apart from speaking to someone in a thread on POTN who is clearly a bit strange.
I have looked at your gallery at least 3 times now whilst I have been posting in this thread, check your analytics for my IP ending 146.28 to see what I have actually looked at rather than guessing wrongly all the time what you think I have done. Before my last post I pulled up your gallery and looked at the last 3 or 4 pages of images with the information pane turned on so I could see what time the images were taken, I didn't see two that were in sequence and on some pages there was a 5 hour spread between when some of the images were taken. I understand the concept of putting your best images at the beginning which is why I originally jumped forward to the middle and then the end to see if there was any order later on but I didn't find any. Anyway, whatever, as I said previously you have some nice images but a strange system and even stranger attitude, good luck with it.

Well now I understand why you do not understand that the photos are in sequence.
The photo numbers are not in sequence. There are photos from three different photographers, there Will be large gaps in the numbers. If you judge sequence by the action occuring in the photos, you will see the Actions are in sequence. You don't have to agree with my system...not asking you to. You and I obviously have a failure to communicate and you have ruined the thread so I am out.

this is the weirdest thread...boys, grow up.
Shockey, obviously you're not new to the forum (judging by the number of posts) so you must know how things are done here. No one can possibly give you feedback on 100's of photos. Why make such a huge deal out of the whole thing and not post a few images for feedback, otherwise all you will get will be "nice shots'', unless that's what you were looking for.
