The poor weather of Chicago's winter finally broke, and the winds finally blew out of the west, a meteorological characteristic primarily of the warmer months in Chicago. Here are some of today's shots -

Very nice shots mate! Everythings so crisp, I've never shot flying planes but I'd imagine you need quite a telephoto ?

Thanks! Depending on where you shooting from, a telephoto may or may not be necessary. At this particular location, the 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS or 55-250mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Nifty-two-fifty works just fine. To get the crisp shots, I shoot in manual, making sure there is a fast shutter speed and a stopped down aperture, such as f/8. I let the camera choose ISO. I then sharpen and mask them up in Lightroom, and voila!

Care to share your spot. I like beeline drive but the straight on shots get old sometimes.

All nice shots, but I like the "Bok-a-plane" the best. It's an original view, while I've seen many similar to the other typical views.

Thanks for sharing the location of these shots. I've often thought about going to that parking lot... I just may venture out there some day very soon!! Thanks again!!

I was expecting photos of O'Hare airport ... even though that isn't the case, your airliner pictures are great.

Good shots; that Jordanian Air flight is particularly striking, though.
