That's what I did. Two capture clips, for separate shoulder bags and a BR strap for when carrying the bag with me isn't practical. The combo works great.

Has anyone used this with a sling bag type camera bag…one where the strap goes diagonally across your chest? If so, did it work or will it slide?

Thanks

the capture clip will not slide when it is secured properly.

I bought mine specifically to use with my messenger bag that I use. I wearing my bag slung most of the time. After testing it I can say it is great on a sling as well. Once tightened down it will not slide.

i find the clip very versatile but its not so comfortable if you are hanging bigger size or heavier lens. Travel zooms with gripless bodies are fine, if u start using it seriously then its better u put on a padded belts or straps like those of a backpack type.

I got mines on black friday from Adorama and so far I love it. I only use it when I know I don't need my battery grip.

Had our first snow last night so I was out today shooting and using my capture clip attached to my messenger bag. Its exactly what I was looking for!!

Attached to the strap of my bag (again messenger bag) it acts like third hand so I don't have to put the bag down to change lenses, a huge plus when everything is wet and covered in snow. Also keeps the camera out of the bag for quick access while I'm just walking around without having to carry it.

Works great!

I ended up luckily finding one on craigslist just before a trip to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp.

The system worked great for me, as I didn't want to continuously be taking my backpack off to grab my gear. The camera clip system kept the camera close by at all times (kept it mounted on my backpack shoulder straps, so it was just on my chest.

However, I found the red locking system not 100% reliable. Halfway through the trek I had to continuously make sure I was pushing the red clip all the way up, before putting the camera on. It might of been some dust or something that was lodge in (maybe needed lubrication?).

I haven't had a chance to look at it properly now that I'm home, but I will do so in the next few days and post up my finding (if it was dirt that was lodged in).

The one other thing I found was that it does obviously add quite a bit of weight to your shoulder if you have it mounted on your shoulder strap of a backpack. Best option would probably be to have two of the systems on each shoulder, so that way I can move the camera from shoulder to shoulder.

Regardless this was a great system. Really happy with it, and will potentially order another soon.

Ok, so I've been using this all underway and I absolutely love it! I can get in and out of scuttles very easy and don't have to worry about my camera swinging around banging into stuff. I still have the strap but that's for when I'm on station. The clip is for point A - B and it's perfect! I love this thing, so worth the investment.

Has anyone from the original program received their eval copies of the extender? If so, does it make any sense? I don't follow how to attach it to any damned thing

i received my capture camera clip system last nite in the mail. looks good.

anyone know what the max stress that can be put on the clip is? how much weight will the system hold when clipped in?

there's a small red colored plastic piece that 'locks' the clip in place. i wonder how this plastic will fair over time, will a replacement be available in case it wears out? seems like such a small contact point to hold $3000 worth of gear.
