I'm in the same boat as ebert and wondering if it'll fit the base plate loop.

has anyone used this with a flash attached? It seems like since you can only connect on the bottom, the hot shoe is always perpendicular to your body and that means a mounted flash would always stick out from the side.

Correct, the way it hooks up you will have the flash sticking straight out from you; either to the side (if used on a belt at the hip), or in front (if mounted on a shoulder strap). I wouldn't recommend either one unless you are in full control of your environment and KNOW you're not gonna whack the flash on someone/something. Plus, it puts the weight pulling funny and isn't very comfortable.

Of course, I've found most of the above to be true with any of the sling straps, as well. Other than a hand grip, I haven't seen any carry solution that works well with a flash attached.

Ian, why is your video removed?

I ordered mine today after the cotton carrier failed and my camera fell. Thankfully on a bed of leaves while hiking.

Sounds awesome! Wish I knew about it earlier and got it when it was $50 although I would have gave the $75 to get the extenders but $80 for just the unit? Idk...I rarely use my camera with a small lens except NIfty on occasion but I'd like it more in partnership with my sling strap so my camera doesn't go everywhere.

Good question. I deleted for no good reason. Sorry.

I'm still a big fan - although I must admit I have misplaced my plate

How did the CC fail? was it the actual device?

So I can confirm it does work with the herringbone. In fact, the herringbone leather isn't as thick as I thought it would be. It fits, but can be snug if not positioned properly; not a problem if you put it left into the clip though, obviously.

Just posted my review on the Capture Camera Clip System - http://1kindphotography.blogspot.com...mera-clip.html

Works great but its not suitable for cameras with gripped bodies. You can see the weight the gripped gear pulls on my belt.

Btw, what canon camera are you using?
Thanks for the review. Based on your experience, I will not get one because I use a gripped camera. Saves me some time.

I use the competitors...Nikon. lol. But im here for the info and knowledge that everyone has to share. I actually like it and wasn't that bad but the added weight and angle it hangs with a gripped body didn't feel comfortable
