Aston Martin Owners Club race day at Oulton Park. It rained, oh boy did it rain. Had to use high ISO's even with 2.8 lenses and ended up soaked through. However, here are a few shots from today, including a couple of pans just for those that have a fixation on that type of shot.

Another great series Ken.
I'm finally starting to warm up to that new Lotus, although being an Esprit owner for 20 years, it killed me to see this was the replacement for one of my favorite all time cars. Do you have any Esprit race cars pics you can share?

I'd be loving the 6th one, even if soggy socks were the price to get it!

I really feel for that Atom driver, he must have been soaked before he reached the first corner.
These are more great shots Ken, well worth getting wet for from where Im sitting They must have had a hard time keeping all that power in control on a wet circut. Quote:
The Elise never replaced the Esprit! Was never designed, or intended to. The Esprit is one of the most perfect cars I have ever driven, but it had reached the end of its design life, even the last of the V8 GTs still used Triumph Herald parts in the front suspension. And it does mean that your car is now an appreciating classic Especialy if you've owned the same car for 20yrs, that impressive! Last edited by Moppie : 9th of October 2005 (Sun) at 03:37. |

Great shots as ever Ken. I drove down the M1 to a wedding reception in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon. The conditions were awful on the motorway, so I can only imagine what they were like for you. #3 and #4 and great shots of some beautiful classic machinery, the rain and spray really add to the shots. However, #5 and #6 are my favourites from what you've posted. Both show groups of cars battling with each other and the conditions, but both are perfectly framed. Must keep practising this type of shot....
Well executed pans, but I'll take a head on or 3/4 pan any day Cheers, Simon. |

Some of the Triumph suspension components was actually so good it was used in F1 cars of the period. If it ain't broke - don't fix it, and a good design stays good.
I'm based 3 miles away from the Lotus plant at Hethel, my father was involved with the engine design on the Esprit Turbo project.
