I just received the Tamron, yesterday, from another memebr here. It's it my first macro lens and I have to say I agree with everything you said about it. It's a great lens.

Jason, Nice write up. I've also tried all three and agree with everything you said in your review. However, given that there is a $500 price difference lower to upper, I can't see the "L" being the best value per dollar. Given that build quality is similar between the non L and L Canons, the non-L seems like it would be a better value. Even the Tamron, with it's current $50 rebate (bringing it down to $409) has to be on par here for the average consumer.
