I bought and read "Understanding Exposure" and in the book he talks about distance settings and distance setting marks on the lens. I tried to look on the kit lens for the T2i and it doesn't seem to have this nor does the 55-250mm.

Is this true they do not have these markings and if so how do you go about doing these types of photos? He suggests picking a area 5-7 ft in front of you and focus on that to get the in focus look throughout the whole picture.

I would have to say the little focus window, with distances, are pretty useless.

Maybe others pay close attention to it?

Inquiring minds want to know.

I read that book also and was wondering what he meant. I don't have any lenses with these scales either. Anyone in here use these distance markers when doing deep depth of field shots?

John

Fantastic vacation shots gepixelt. Love that wide angle stuff. I might have to pick up that 10-22 soon myself.

I actually saw what he was talking about in one of his videos you can access online by buying the book. Still not sure though how to do it with Canon lenses and the T2i.

It appears no one answered your question. I have purchased Photomatrix Pro for HDR, but I also have a trial version of Dynamic Photo HDR 5. I haven't used either very much, but Photomatrix is pretty easy to use and the results are very nice.

Long time no chat, guys. Busy as ever, but figured I'd share a shot from tonight. Sooo incredibly close to my National Geographic dream shot of a lightning bolt hitting one of the lightning rods on the barn, but I'll take it anyway even if it was a bit overexposed.
