A small group from the UK South East thread ventured up from the south of England to Northumberland this weekend to photograph a number of sea birds that are breeding on the Farne Islands. The main drawcard was the delightful puffins, but a number of gulls, guillemots, razorbills, shags, oyster catchers and seals were also spotted over the weekend.

Hi All
Could not delay Puffins in flight are devilish hard to capture but here is one for now with sandeels #1 awefull noise on this one sadly! ![]() #2 Posing with supper for the kids ![]() #3 Some of the Artis Terns perfected the dropping of the food directly into the open gape ![]() #4 A pair of Terns squabbling in flight ~ very agile fliers they are too! ![]() More when I get the chance to select the best of the bunch?

Will post some more tonight. It was almost impossible to meter for the puffins as the bright sunlight either washed out their face or underexposed the black. The Saturday was slightly better as it was overcast.

Right guys, here are a few more for now ~ I hope to do further cuts and PP'ing soonish?
#5 Puffin bringing home the 'bacon' ![]() #6 PiF shortly after takeoff ![]() #7 These two were really lovey dovey rubbing beaks and then 'he' grabbed 'her' ![]() #8 The Puffins really had to run the gaunlet of the Black Headed Gulls mobbing them for their catch ~ cheeky beggers ! ![]() #9 Arctic Tern caught almost hovering ~ such beauties in the air. ![]() #10 A Razorbill thinking something was kind of funny. ![]()
