Thanks for the feedback on the others ~ the specular highlights on the Puffin were great and due to the sunlight off the sea in the greater bg. The Tern with the building as the backdrop was literally dropping the food into the young uns beaks, just could not get the action all in as it was apart form anything so very quick!

As DrD says with bright sunlight and birds with black & white in their plummage was quite a challenge!

Laurence, lovely shots!
I hope the missus is feeling a little better now she's resting up.

Ditto, thanks ~ we both really liked the Farnes, a beautifull place and the bird/wildlife (I have few seal images ) is stunning.

Viv, is having the life of Riley at the moment......................must go water the plants and make her (us ) a cuppa after that. But seriously, she says the pain is less than it was but getting around with crutches is a whole new game to get right and as for the stairs......

About 100 left to get through so here's a few more from Inner Farne

Shag mating ritual

The pickup line evidently worked

Puffin attacked by greedy gulls

Razorbill

Nesting Shags

Shags

Guillemot

Almost a repeat of Laurence's, Puffin being attacked by gulls

Loving the shots guys ... Haven't had time to edit more of mine ... Will try and catch up later in the week! Loving the "mugging" shots of the gulls trying to steal the eel/fishes Laurence ... And the tern shot from Dennis plus the wide angled shots too ... And the flight shots from Laurence ...

Fab fab fab

When are we going back??

This one a nice sense of isolation and 'presence'.

Nothing wrong with a 'classic' As for the Tern chicks they were very cute indeed. That tog ~ crumbs how could he concentrate on the subject with all that weight Was he the one we saw on the boat as I do not remember him having so much kit though the taped up lenses are familiar and he certainly got way too close to some of the birds IMO

Ok, have finished processing and my keeper rate is appalling but here are a few from Staple Island:

Cute puffin

Heading for the burrow

PiF (Puffin in Flight)

PiF2

Nesting Shag (spot the hatchling)

Boss puffin

Anke inspired minimilist shot

BinocuLar glass

I've got more of Holy Island but they aren't anywhere as good as these so will post a link to the gallery when I've put it up.

Yep that's the one, he also stayed at the Olde Shippe. On the boat he had a 500 IS and 70-200 IS, with a 16-35 and 300IS in his rucksack. I guess he brought it all out to play on the island.

These two are lovely, really showing how it's their island and we all just visit. Nice.
