Default How about a lift?

Or an elevator, depending on where you're from.

You may have seen the variations on this theme in another thread, but I had to return to the same building yesterday and noticed a much more interesting pattern just walking straight into the lift.

So here's the last in the series...

Cheers,

Don

Looks like some hypergalactic spacetunnel heading to lightyears away...... well, never mind.

Great shot Don!

Don: Very cool! I had to visit Kleptography just to figure out what you'd done here. The little lights with the red rims are being reflected on the stainless steel--but I would never had guessed.
My first reaction was some kind of "painting with light" thingy, and of course, I wouldn't put it past you. Then again, you are the master of the "observed photo," that is, you see images rather than construct them. Image archeologist rather than image architect!

cheers,

Henk and Peter -- thanks very much for jumping in here (I think the lift holds 40).

Getg3 -- what a nice compliment. Thank you.

Johnmate -- you're right. Despite the title of this photo, I always think of it as "Gateway." You want to see where in the galaxy it leads (hoping for the best; not even imaging the worst when you're faced with such a beautiful portal).

Shachar -- what's interesting about your amazingly sharp comment is that I did less sharpening on this photo than most others, unsharp masking at 50, 0.3, 0. And I did no sharpening at all on the original two images, even when they were resized -- http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...?t=10333#48459

Thanks for all your comments. It's full payment for hanging around lifts and pressing multiple floors and ignoring wondering stares.

Don

Hi Philip,

What dedication you have to find the other two on the website (plus this one, just uploaded a few minutes ago). For others, they're at the end of the "angles" gallery in larger versions. http://www.kleptography.com/gallery-angles.htm

I know you'll understand if I paraphrase your "archeologist/architect" comment in cocktail party conversation -- keeping the alliterative quality of the observation, of course. It's so much more stylish that my description of taking "found photos."

Thanks, Philip. As usual you are correct -- I'm much too lazy to be setting up photos, especially something on this scale.

Cheers,

Don

Are you sure that's not a sneak peek from the new matrix movie?

Very tantalyzing photo, Don. You could have told me it was the showroom door at Ferrari, instead of an elevator, and I'd have never known!

Matthew... I couldn't have put it better -- Ferrari should be proud to have such a doorway. And I am looking forward to having my matrix reloaded.

Eland... thank you for your very kind and succinct comment. I'm glad you like it.

Cheers,

Don
