A couple of decent shots since I put the platform feeder over the deck. I've been putting halved peanuts in there with a small scoop of b/o sunflower seeds.
![]() Rainy day..handheld, through window, iso800, 1/30 @ full 250mm...otherwise, not bad sharpness....lol. ![]() ![]() And, a funny one. You guys are right about the Blue Jays and peanuts. They never visited the feeders under trees for sunflower seeds, or rarely did. However, I had one the other day squawking at my kitchen window because I was late in getting them out in the morning. The next day, I saw the squirrel in the feeder. I tried to grab a shot of the squirrel, before I made him jump, and the jay flew in and started giving the squirrel the business. It's like the peanuts are their crack. Nuthatches, titmice, and woodpeckers, too. Again, not going for perfect quality, just the scene since things were happening quickly between the two.....and I was laughing at them.. ![]() Thanks for peeking in..

Looks like you have a proper "buffet" in your new setup chopper... the peanuts are a great attraction for the "jay bird" and many others... good luck with future fly ins.... and getting rid of the squirrel

Our local Scrub Jays prefer chopped up walnuts to peanuts.
