Hi I'm sure this will have been covered before but I'm using my mobile to browse and it's slow browsing so forgive me.
I've recently bought an S95 and would like advice on taking long exposure landscape shots. Which settings do I need to be using? I've tried but it just overexposed to the point the image is just white! Many thanks Garry |

well it's pretty much the same principle as determining exposure for other shots, just different settings. You have to either experiment or, preferably, watch the exposure meter to make sure you're not overexposing.
I can't tell from the post if you're trying to get the longest possible exposure time or if you're just looking for tips for shots that happen to have a longer exposure. If you're going for longest possible to show movement or something, here's one quick way to try if you're in a rush setting up the shot. Go to AV mode. Select the lowest ISO (80) and the smallest aperture (I think s95 only goes to f/11 but don't remember). Then use the exposure compensation to adjust as needed, but that will give you the longest exposure time possible without overexposing. Of course a tripod or other support is necessary too. If you're just looking for general tips, then I'd say to get a tripod and read up on good tripod technique. The good thing about a very small camera like that if that you don't need a very expensive tripod to be able to support with no shake. You don't want total junk, but it doesn't have to be a big tripod for an SLR or anything.
