1 is good. 2 has a few issues. the cropping is not good. its not flattering with her belly off showing too much, which is worsened by some blown highlights in her shirt int the area which attract the eye. Also her bra strap is showing prominently. the lighting of the face has casted a strong shadow, and back ground lighting around her head (whether a true light of photoshop effect) is a little too strong. that much said, her face is beautiful and has a very nice playful expression.

Thanks Kevindar for your feedback, its much appreciated. This was the setup - An SB80 in a 28" softbox to the front and 2 vivitar 285's, one either side and slightly behind her.

How would you go about improving the setup?

1 is definitely more pleasing to the subject. She looks much larger in #2, and it's been my experience in life that people are rarely happy to look larger. Perhaps you could do a tight crop on #2 and make it work but the belly, shirt area isn't flattering at all.
