Also we will change the direct print button to mirror lock up.

A mirror lockup button on a mirrorless camera should be even more useful than the direct print button. I'm so excited.

Canon isn't perfect you know. If the direct print button is useless now it may as well be useless on the next generation cameras as well ;)

Well let's see. Its in Hollywood. We like to think Hollywood is enamored with the 5DMII. I don't think so. But they are certainly watching the technology. Its really not that useful to them as they want XLR outputs, and a number of other things.

If we also look at Imagin8ion which is still related, although looking very cinematic. I would think that Canon is about to announce a Cinema camera that does stills as well. I think they have the ability to do 8k, but that's for later sales. They will introduce a 4K video camera with higher Mbps, Media outputs like XLR, etc and with Cinema controls. The only thing is will it have a PL mount, probably not since the whole point is selling EF lenses.

Just my 2 cents.

Nikon is announcing mirrorless tommorow, so i'm pretty sure canon will do the same.

I say its definitely a mirror-less camera system. The timing of Nikon's announcement related to this one is just too convenient. I'm not into the whole mirror-less deal, but Canon does need to release a model in order to stay competitive.

I think they are going to announce a new sponsorship deal, CSI and all the other shows will now prominently feature Canon cameras whenever a camera is featured in a scene. This should help boost Rebel sales why they try and figure out what they are going to do about the 5DIII and 1DsIV.

RED just announced that they will be revealing their next Scarlett camera on Nov 3, too. That means they must think Canon's product has to do with video and want to block some hype. I'm still guessing something cinema related.

Product Placement is something that involves a lot of zeros...

I'm sure Canon would love to supplant Noink on several TV shows.

what if this would be one of those F U type of annoucements?

like they did a while ago going from FD lenses to EF?

what if they annouce that they are dropping the EF system for a new mount/system that is not backwards compatible with EF?

FD to EF pissed off a lot of people but it was necessary to add autofocus and electronic aperture control. What current technology would require a redesign of the mount?

I don't know, but that certainly would be a big announcement, just thinking about the possibilities.
