I'm going to pull the pin on this as my travel camera... I like my S95, but I need this to replace my Sony HX1 for a all in one high zoom.

Good choice, I've only had mine a few days but I've been really impressed so far

Have not got out with mine to give it a work out but some impressive photos posted here . Definately a great grab N go camera that should cover the bases without logging a bunch of lens and gear

Umm..He's Sick, My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious……

Sharpened in Paint Shop Pro9. I've found that most of my images are soft straight from the SX40. I can't find an in-camera sharpness adjustment - does anyone else if there is one? I couldn't find it in the user guide either.

Sharpened in PSP9. Taken on a tripod with Raynox DCR250. Subject is about 12mm long.

Sharpened in PSP9. Handheld with Hoya +4.

Sharpened and stacked in Photoshop CS4. On tripod with Raynox DCR250. Subject is about 6mm long.

To adjust your sharpness in camera push the func set button. Scroll down to your color's function. I believe it is the second function down. Scroll to the last one and push to activate the C function. Push your DISP button and scroll through the functions until you find sharpness...than adjust to your liking.

You are correct, the pictures are soft for the most part but not all that bad
