I'm a bunny! - Day 85 of 365
Just before her bath DeeAnn and I threw on her hat and took a couple quick pictures. She is really sick, but even still willing to show a smile for the camera.

I'm crallin' daddy! - Day 86 of 365
Well, for weeks and maybe even months Julianne has tried to learn how to get from A to B. Today she figured it out. My little girl finally learned how to move her arms and crawl. It's amazing to watch her grow and learn.

Daddy, check out my toy! - Day 87 of 365
As the days go on Julianne's ability to sit up, reach out and grab objects and seeing/understanding cause and effect increases. When she got the toy behind her at Christmas she couldn't really sit up to play it. If she reached for a ball she would fall over and baby vs hard plastic means some tears to follow. Now she can play and have the ability to show a cute face after.

I'm hidin' daddy - Day 88 of 365
Julianne was so excited she couldn't contain it, she has her first toy box! Well, maybe not so much of a box, but either way she crawled over, got in the box and slightly closed the lid. As you can see she just wanted to be able to peek outside to make sure not to miss a moment of fun!

That last shot is both cute and exceptional. Well-done sir.

Thanks! I had the idea for a day or two, but imagined it a little different. I was going to have the top open and a blanket hanging from the camera left side, but my wife had a different idea. She closed the top a little and Julianne decided to go with it. I’m happy with the shot and really appreciate the comments! There was a week there that I really wasn’t caring about this project, but now I have some new inspiration and hopefully will be able to continue on. All the comments and support are greatly appreciated!

just wait until she's older and really IS climbing in and out of that thing!

One of my favorite shots of my son (and it was taken with a 35mm camera) was of him asleep on the BOTTOM stair of our split level home (at the time). Hilarious because he had a big ole cloth diapered booty sticking up in the air, drool on his little hand, etc.

Sometimes getting new inspiration is key. I dropped the idea of a 365 project with my DSLR because I just find it hard to capture images of my boys (but plan to pick up this idea in April for their birthdays and hopefully I'll get a flash and a new lens!). But I AM doing a 366 (this is a leap year!!! lol) iPhoneography project and have been having fun with it.

love all her drooling pictures but that last one here is my favorite

Thanks so much! With Julianne crawling now it has been hard to keep up. A whole new test of focusing...

Just me and my boots - Day 89 of 365
It's been a busy crazy week, but Julianne told me not matter how busy things get she told me she has to look cute with a taste of high fashion. So with a little bit of lighting, the right pose and the correct editing Julianne is ready for the cover of any magazine.

Whoa... - Day 90 of 365
While trying to get some stuff done around the house I set Julianne up on our bed. Of course it only took a few minutes before Julianne rolled over and tried to craw around. So I jumped up on the bed and stood up, she was like...whoa, you are so high up daddy!

Oh hi, it's just me - Day 91 of 365
Daddy got a new toy, a seamless backdrop kit and of course I had to get out the softbox and her favorite blanket. I'm amazed at the result. I also am excited for photos in the future. Grey seamless means I can gel my strobes and make the background any color! I really wanted Julianne to sit for this shoot but she just has to put her personal touch to every shot I take!

Hi,
I really like the new setup and photos LR3 for PP? Specifically day 89, very nice
If you don't mind me asking can you PM me the cost for the seamless backdrop kit. I only have one flash though...no strobes or softbox
thanks,
Adam

Nope, I used this: Savage Port-A-Stand w/ Storm Gray Seamless Paper Kit. I bought it off of Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details It was about $200 with shipping, but paper is so much better and with a grey background and some gels for your flash you can have any backdrop you want pretty much.

I am really happy with the build quality. I bought a background stand from cowboy studios for about the same price and it broke within a month. Savage's stand is really high quality for the price, I highly recommend it.

Oh and for a softbox (if you are planning on getting one) I use the NEEWER® 24" which is $31 on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details I think the Westcott is still better, but for the price I haven't had any complaints.

I'm gelling - Day 92 of 365
So a while back when I started this whole off the camera flash stuff I bought some gels, well I've never used them. In their baser form they used to correct the color of light on your subject. Anyway, I know my girl and knew I had to get her set up with some pink behind her. So here is my first gel attempt. Technically I should have set up the grey seamless, but I did it on a green wall instead. Still cute as ever and that's all that matters.

That last shot is the money. The background, the carpet ... the outfit with the subdued colors, and the light from the softbox is perfect.

If I may add one suggestion, if you have another strobe, a rim light on the left side will add another dimension to the photo. Bare flash would be a bit too harsh for this scene, but through a white shoo-through umbrella or another softbox would be subtle and add depth.

Thanks so much and I agree. I do have one more strobe and an umbrella so I guess look for your suggestion in the future! Now I just need to get the dining room table out of the way!

Dad made the bed - Day 93 of 365
Julianne and mom went out for grandmas birthday and when they came back I had some of the house picked up on new sheets on the bed. Of course DeeAnn decides that mean it's time to put Julianne on the bed. Oh well, at least I was able to catch her new smile!

Patriots win, yeah right daddy - Day 94 of 365
With tonight being the big game I told Julianne that most people think the Patriots are going to win, but daddy favors the Giants. When I told her people think the Patriots are going to win she made this face. Smart girl!

My first time at the pool - Day 95 of 365
DeeAnn and I have been wanting to take Julianne to the pool at our gym for a while now but things just never lined up. So we finally bought her a bathing suit and we both have the day off so off to Lifetime we went. We didn't know we should look for what time family time starts....big mistake. We had to wait 50 minutes and it was time for Julianne to eat and take a nap. She waited patiently and had a ton of fun.
